Title: Cliff Lee wins #19

Another great performance by Cliff. Pretty sick. Now 19-2.

Also, the Tribe have now won 9 straight. Going for 10 tonight. Just good timing to decide to become hot.

So much for striving for that #1 pick. Oh well, Nats have it on lock-down anyway

Lee should be HIGHLY considered for both Cy Young and Come-back player of the Year. 19-2 is filthy. To only have your name in the loss column 2 out of 21 decisions is nasty.

The MLB will give Hamilton the Comeback Player award because he did drugs. MLB likes that kind of stuff.

Didn't he win it last year?

Tribe No 1 Fan - August 28, 2008 08:10 PM (GMT)
He did?

YankeeNation - August 28, 2008 08:18 PM (GMT)
Carlos Pena won it last year.

for the AL?

webgem924 - August 28, 2008 09:53 PM (GMT)
Last yr was Dmitri Young.

Hamilton wasn't so bad last yr. Comeback player is a person who has a great season after a terrible season

He played for the Rays, and now that it's mentioned, I do remember Pena and Young winning them last year.

I was talking about Pena, not Hamilton.

YankeeNation - August 29, 2008 02:39 PM (GMT)
Unfortunately, Hamilton will probably get the nod over Lee because "ZOMG HE USED TO LIKEY TEH DRINK BOOOZE AND SMOKE CRACK" When, he hasn't done any of that in like 2, 3 years.

Meanwhile, for Lee to go from a horrid '07 in which he got sent down to the minors, no sure chance he was going to be in the rotation this year, to the AL Cy Young Winner, is a greater story for BASEBALL.

Heroin Hamilton can do no wrong.

Tribe No 1 Fan - August 29, 2008 07:27 PM (GMT)
There should be a Comebackfromdrugs Player award.

YankeeNation - August 29, 2008 08:03 PM (GMT)
I read something on the award, and it said something about "re-surgence" on a Baseball field. and Cliff Lee defines that.

To go from 5-8, 6.29 to 19-2, 2.43 with still a month to go, certainly should be oversee a guy who did drugs, but has BEEN CLEAN FOR 2 to 3 years now.

Tribe No 1 Fan - August 29, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
Mhmm, that makes sense completely and that's the way it should be, because Hamilton isn't coming off a bad season or anything.

YankeeNation - August 29, 2008 10:20 PM (GMT)
My point exactly. Actually Hamilton is coming off a good Rookie campaign

Here it comes! Hopefully today'll be the day! Win number 20!!! It's gonna be a tough series!

Woahh, you're here.

SaintJoe3B - September 1, 2008 04:25 PM (GMT)
It's a shame Lee wasn't so good last year when Indians were doing good. He would have won 25 games no doubt, and Indians could possibly have won the World Series.

And it's a shame the Yankees didn't have C.C. Sabathia and Tim Linceucum and Brandon Webb this year, or else they would be contenders.

yeah well Indians had him last year, I'm just saying it's a shame Lee started out so good right after injuries and decline hit the Indians

hankaaron44 - September 1, 2008 06:00 PM (GMT)
Maybe he's just good when there isn't that pressure of winning a division or pennant this year.

What do you mean there wasn't pressure of winning those things this year? There were high expectations, but we just had a crap season.
