Title: Andruw Jones at 1B?
TheHugeUnit - August 25, 2008 02:45 PM (GMT)
He's been playing 1B in the minors which would be great for Torre since he wouldn't have to start a young-un like Loney there. Plus he couldn't field an outfield of Manny, Jones and Pierre, so this will help him get even more vets in the lineup. To be honest, I'm shocked they didn't add another outfielder although I won't be shocked if they resign manny and sign an Abreu or someone else like him.

Than what would they do with Loney?

They should see if Jones can pitch

| He'd be on the bench. |
Yeah why the hell would you want a .300 hitting 24 year old in your lineup when you can have a .200 hitting 31 year old?

You don't know the mind of Joe Torre.

Gotta figure his mind is going if he wants Jones over Loney in the lineup. Jones becomes useless if you take him out of the OF. The only thing he had left was his fielding and arm, at 1B he has no redeeming qualities.

He's done it for the last 10 years.... you haven't noticed?

See before I didn't mind him doing dumb things and benching a good young player in favor of a bad old player, now I'm impartial to it.

why hasnt kershaw gotten the joba treatment...
braveschopbraves - August 26, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
oh Bobby is the master of that
Instead of playing Brandon Jones in LF in a season thats done, we play Greg Norton or Omar Infante, veteran backup infielders.
and instead of seeing Stockman in the bullpen, (who would be the second best pitcher in the pen) we see Julian Tavarez and Vladimir Nunez

Another word Yankee fans know is when you Torre a pitcher. That means when you ruin them. Enjoy Broxton while you can.

Because Joba pitches in New York.

I'm kershaw has some innings restrictions, but he's had a full year in the minors more than Joba.
jaysdude09 - August 26, 2008 03:47 AM (GMT)
Kershaw had the less than 30 innings per month cap thing but he's gone over it this year
stud2bman - August 26, 2008 04:19 AM (GMT)
I mean kershaw has had his shining moments he's great and he's had his bad days but it seems like those bad days happen when he's struggling and torre doesnt help the kid out by talking to him or taking him out while he's ahead cause I think a players morale gets crushed more when they get smashed on then when they get pulled out...

The FO controlled Joba, Torre hands were tied.
