Well, at least for the rest of the year, I was reading it up on ESPN that Riccardi has no plans of trading him. I wouldn't either, the jays are getting timely hitting, the jays have a great bullpen and still a great starting rotation considering the injury bug that has been going on. Since no one is offering anything remotly good enough for him the jays might as well keep him.
Who knows, maybe toronto will be this years version of the colorado rockies

It sounds like Burnett wants to stay in toronto and he beleives the team can compete. so yea... great news sounds like he might be pitching gems the rest of the season with his attitude on track.

lol the jays are only 7 1/2 out and if they win tonight they will be 6 1/2 out. As long as the jays can win series vs tampa , new york and boston they can easily climb back in the race.
It is harder said then done, but with the rays on top right now I beleive that anything is possible.
I don't think anyone could of predicted how well the rays are doing thus far this season.

Jays plan on giving Burnett a bonus to not opt out from the rumors going around. Adding 2 to 3 million a year on his deal.

Carlos Silva makes 11M. Burnett only makes 12. I have no isses bumping him up to 14 or 15 for 2 years.

"Gormandize" and "manducate" might be the only things that fit this bill. And that's if you're eating yogurt that is directed by tube to the back of your throat and dropped off to slide down, requiring no effort on the part of the gormandizer.

yea no problem there... especially considering he's throwing gems and showing he can play an entire season without being injured. It's pretty impressive.

I think that J.P. might be trying to send a message to other GM's who are interested in Burnett by saying that he won't trade him because none of them are making strong offers. Remember, they're not lies if we know the truth.

It was a lame joke. You said harder said than done, as opposed to easier said than done. Those are synonyms for eat, and the action of eating is probably easier than saying gormandize. Yeah. A.J. Burnett is cool.
