Title: Braves interested in Guillen

TheHugeUnit - July 24, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
Jose Guillen's combustibility wouldn't exactly make him a perfect fit in a lot of towns to begin with. But teams that have spoken with the Royals report that the Braves asked about Guillen in their hunt for outfield offense. Don't bet on that deal's going down, though. The Royals have been telling teams they want a cornerstone player back (a la Gorkys Hernandez) and at least one other piece. And it's doubtful the Braves are that interested.

I tihnk they could do better, he's not someone they really need. I'd go out get Dejesus, myself. You got Heyward coming up probably by this time next year.

lets be sellers and not buyersssssss

TheHugeUnit - July 24, 2008 09:55 PM (GMT)
Who do you want to see sold and where to?

braveschopbraves - July 24, 2008 10:04 PM (GMT)
Teixeira, maybe to the D'Backs for C. Jackson?

we aren't going any where this year, but next year we will have some money cause we won't be paying Glavine, Smoltz (maybe), Hampton, Teixeira, and Kotsay. we could sign Sheets or CC or Lowe or a combination of them and maybe Pat the Bat?

and we need a new manager

TheHugeUnit - July 24, 2008 10:10 PM (GMT)
You'd get more than Jackson for Tex right? Fuck you guys if you touch CC, I hope the Yankees get him. We have 85 million coming off the books, no excuses. Oh that'd really fuck the Phillies if you signed Burrel.

braveschopbraves - July 24, 2008 11:57 PM (GMT)
yeah probably, but really I'd be happy just getting Jackson

and now I'm hearing that teams are actually looking at Francoeur.

D-Backs won't give up Jackson+ for Teixeira. It'd be more likely they'd offer a package based around Parker or Scherzer.

I'd take a chance with Francuer. I know he doesn't really have plate discipline, but he has some nice power and a line drive swing, and is still young.

If they hate him so much there, I'd be more than happy to take him on the Yankees.

 I'd love to get either one. Buying low on Parker would be an awesome move, I don't know if they'd trade him though.

I'd be happy if the Yankees took him too.
