And oh yea, Brett Cecil is sick. He turned 22 couple of weeks ago, and his stats in AA:

71.2IP, 63H, 22BB's, 79 Ks, only 4HR aloud and a 2.79 ERA and a 57% GB rate with a 2.88 FIP

Good ground ball tendencies+good K rates+Good walk rates+great stuff+lefty = future frontline starter.

STEAL at pick 38

Wow.

jaysdude09 - July 25, 2008 07:55 PM (GMT)
Yup. The only negative here is that he doesn't go deep into games, but I'm sure once he starts talking to Halladay that will change

hankaaron44 - July 25, 2008 09:10 PM (GMT)
He's not going deep for a reason. The Blue Jays are keeping a close eye on his innings and his pitch count...as they should. They obviously don't want to see another Josh Banks or Luke Prokepec.

jaysdude09 - July 29, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
Big Brett Cecil is heading to Syracuse(AAA). Get ready folks, he's gonna be a September callup this year and you get to see his nasty slider live!

I know you're kidding, but on the topic of September call ups, the only one who I can almost guarantee will be called up is Arencibia. Snider might get a shot and I think he should but I doubt it.

jaysdude09 - July 29, 2008 04:31 PM (GMT)
Haha yea. I think he'll get long hard look for a roto spot next year with the possibility of McGowan not being ready by then and AJ's gonna get traded or walk so yeah.
