Wow, someone will snap him up. I didn't think pitching other than Heilman and Perez, was such a bad thing for the Mets.

Edgar For Mayor - June 17, 2008 12:31 AM (GMT)
Randolph is done.

win2day - June 17, 2008 12:36 AM (GMT)
Yeah someone will hire him. I don't think after that Kazmir move (which Peterson advocated that he could turn Zambrano into a very good pitcher) that he had much chance of staying here.

And this is just a last ditch attempt by Omar to spark the team withoug firing Willie.

Randolph is done.

They can't fire him now, it would be like kicking yourself in the balls. They had two chances to fire him and they didn't. They'll have to lose 10 in a row now.

win2day - June 17, 2008 01:25 AM (GMT)
Now it says its not confirmed and that the sources were wrong. BOoooooooooooooooooooo.

terrorist of sports - June 17, 2008 01:41 PM (GMT)
alright it just said that theyre all fucking fired. im actully a little but pissed.win 3 of 4 and then fire the guys? thats niot right oamr. thats just not right.

Oh stop TOS. Three games means nothing. We've seen them do this before.

Good. Don't let the fucking door hit you in the back on the way out, Willie. I won't miss you at all.

Good job, Omar.

Marlinschamps03 - June 17, 2008 03:54 PM (GMT)
Bye bye willie.

Tribe No 1 Fan - June 17, 2008 07:34 PM (GMT)
Willie's gone along with the pitching coach and the bullpen (??) coach.

Jerry Manuel's taking over. Good luck Mets.

I kind of agree with TOS on some levels.

TheHugeUnit - June 17, 2008 07:37 PM (GMT)
I want willie for the Yankees 3B coach. Since Bobby is retarded.

I want Peterson as the roving pitching coach as well. Give him a bag of money, damnit. To bad he'll probably go to the Giants.

win2day - June 17, 2008 08:43 PM (GMT)
That is classless. Omar says Willie has his full support on Friday. The team goes out and wins 3 out of 4. You let the guy get on a plane from NY to California, the team wins, and you fire him THEN?

Why not fire him in NY? Why say he has your full support? I think its just classless.

TheHugeUnit - June 17, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)
hahahahahahaah omar said ok 37 times in the last 5 mins during his press conference. I've never made fun of George Bush, but at least he can do a better job at talking. He said ok thre times in a row at one point. LOL now he is blaming the media.

I mean I have mixed feelings. sure they arent playing to their potential. but I mean, theyre playing 500 baseball. and theres still more than half the season kleft.its worth taking that chance. and its really not the coaches fault that Billy Wagner blew 3 saves in a row, or that half the team can't hit above 250.... they really werent that bad coaches.

TheHugeUnit - June 18, 2008 02:31 AM (GMT)
It already starts to fall for the mets. Reyes gets on in the first, hurts himself and manuel tries to take him out. Only one problem, jose doesn't want to come out. Manuel has to shove him towards the dugout. Jose has some choice words and throws his helment.

Mets Rule - June 18, 2008 03:11 AM (GMT)
Where did you see this? Are you watching the same game? Manuel didn't shove anyone, and all Reyes did was throw his helmet. Stupid, but I like it. Shows he wants to stay in the game.

lol what game are you watching? Manuel was basically hugging Reyes while Reyes was trying to get away, and drag him to the dugout.

Omar why dont you hire these guys?

Reyes and Manuel are in the dugout talking, and Reyes and Manuel smiled and Reyes hugged Manuel.

Fred Flipon is like Peter Angelos. If you wanna see the Future of the Mets organzion take a look at the Orioles organzion 8 years ago.Thats where the mets are heading.

terrorist of sports - June 18, 2008 04:28 AM (GMT)
wow, looks like this was totally the right decision.....

steveox - June 18, 2008 06:10 AM (GMT)
They should have waited until the All Star Break and then fire him.

Caulfield - June 18, 2008 03:00 PM (GMT)
The problems with this team are deeper than the manager and coaching staff. The players can't stay healthy (Alou, Church, Pagan), Delgado is hitting .238 with an OPS barely hovering over .700, Brian Schneider's production could be matched by any one of many backup catchers in the league, only three pitchers have an ERA under 3.50, and aside from the deals for Reyes and Wright, Minaya has been average to questionable as GM at best (He's like Mark Shapiro in Cleveland: living off one good stretch of trades, which causes the organization to forgive anything else he does in hopes he might pull a rabbit out of his ass again).

You know you're up shit creek without a paddle when you have Trot Nixon, Damian Easley, and Fernando Tatis on your roster. That would be a nice looking roster in 1998, but not in 2008.

terrorist of sports - June 18, 2008 03:16 PM (GMT)
tahtsxactly what im thinking here. other than whether or not willies job was safe or not being a distraction, he was probablly the least of the problems...
