Title: Holliday, Atkins and Fuentes could be on the block
TheHugeUnit - May 16, 2008 12:43 AM (GMT)
All three of these guys could be headed to the block. Its suggested the Rockies could take high end fresh blood in return for them.

They'd make an absolute killing on Holliday and Atkins. There are probably only 5-10 farms in baseball who could even make a fair offer for Holliday, and probably only half of those teams have a high enough payroll to handle the extension he'll want. So there's probably 3-5 teams in baseball who will make an offer for Holliday, and they'll get cleaned out..

Come on yankees you know you want to do it, come on Hank trade a way that great farm cashman worked hard for.
Ya thats not going ot happen cashman would probly resign, but we can allways hope.

Yankees wouldn't get cleaned out. The Red Sox are looking fro guys in A ball and under and Yankees dominate in that department. Look at their Charlestown roster, its got to be the greatest roster ever put together and I believe they have the best record in baseball. Dellin, Heredia, Montero, among others could go as we plan to be major players with Inoa who could get $6 million this summer. That being said, I'd want to lock Holliday up before a deal could happen. If anyone on here knew a dime's worth about prospects you'd all jerk off to the depth in the lower level on the Yankee system. No one can come close to it.
That being said, I'd rather go after Fuentes as the Yankees have so much outfield depth as it is. Plus we need a lefty in our pen.

Horne, Melancon, Gardner, Jackson, Suttle, Robertson, Cox, Pope, McAllister, McCutchen, Sublett, Romine to name a few are american. Betancez is also American, but is from Latin background.
As pete points out the Yankees have a few guys who could see major league time this year.
J.B. Cox (AAA)
Mark Melancon (AA)
Dan McCutchen (AAA)
Alan Horne (AAA)
David Robertson (AAA)
Steven White (AAA)
Chase Wright (AA)
Dan Giese (AAA)
Giese and White aren't real prospects, but Giese is pitching great. Wright is meh, I like him in the pen more. Melancon is God, I wouldn't want to trade him. Horne, McCutchen, Robertson and Cox all have good stuff and have been dominating. We can trade guys in the upper class of the farm as well.

I really wouldn't want Holliday.
His career OPS at Coors is 1.090. His career OPS everywhere else is .782. That's a 300 point difference. No thanks.

Indians may be trying to get in on a possible deal for Atkins.

You guys should push hard for him now. Get ready for next year now and not wait another two years or so to contend.

Why wouldn't you want Holliday? The guy is a fighter and is a damn good ball player.

I don't know who your question was pointed to, but I wouldn't want him since you'd ask for a lot and he is obivously helped by your park.
