Well he was one of the guys that both me and THU liked in last year's draft that went to college after deciding to not sign with the Angels.

Lets take a look at his stats so far, in his freshman year:

3-0
2.84 ERA (Lowest starter ERA on the team)
31.7 IP
26 K
14 H
12 BB
.136 BAA
.82 WHIP

That is as a freshman in college, in a very competitive league (I think his team - Oregon State - won the National Championship last year or the year before)

Lets take a look at some other Freshman who are pretty well known in college from years past:

Mark Prior:

3.49 ERA
129 IP
143 K
43 BB
122 H
1.28 WHIP

Tim Lincecum:

3.53
112 IP
83 H
161 K
82 BB
1.47 WHIP

I know its early especially since its such a short sample with him, but I do think he's going to be a first round pick in 3 years barring injuries. He has the stuff to dominate, and so far, so good. His K numbers are coming up, but his ERA and WHIP numbers are great for a freshman in college.
