Title: Cain or Lincecum?

If you got the chance to take one of these kids to build your rotation around, which one would you take and why?

zackboomer - April 4, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
Cain. The way lincecum pitches he'll be an injury threat soon.

Depends on how long the rotation is for. If for fantasy purposes for one year, you pick Lincecum. If its more of a real life long term plan, you take Cain.

What win said. In fantasy I'd take Lincecum, if we're talking real life I'd take Cain in a heart beat.

YankeeKing44 - April 4, 2008 08:05 PM (GMT)
I'd take Cain, he just seems like he'll be better in the long run.

I'd go with Cain, he has more of a track record. Lincecum put up a 4.00 ERA last year and he should improve but I like Cain right now.

Luckily for the Giants they get to build around both of them and a decent Noah Lowrey, plus they have a guy named Barry Zito who could return to being good.

I would take Cain, even though Lincecum has better stuff.

Marlinschamps03 - April 5, 2008 06:57 AM (GMT)
Cain, Lincy's to violent.

Bloss - April 5, 2008 02:56 PM (GMT)
Lincecum , if he can stay healthy he can be better the cain in the long run. his stuff is way better

I take cain based on these last 2 years. He has lights out basically. His record last year is really untelling of his stuff because the lineup never gave him run support. Sure lincecum has ace stuff but he's too erratic and hasn't shown me the consitancy I would want in a number one starter

TheHugeUnit - April 5, 2008 03:20 PM (GMT)
I think I had this topic last year on IPB and a lot of people took Lincecum.

jaysdude09 - April 5, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
It's funny because in any game that's a must-win for my organization, I'd take Lincecum over Cain. Or in a playoff series, I'd rather have Lincecum pitch game 7 than Cain.

I agree with what TOS said. I'd take Matt Cain
