Martin, I believe he started out as a second basemen, so he won't wear down as bad as the other two.

martin hits for power, average has a high obp, walks and steals bases. done deal.

Martin. His bat is comparable to the other two, and his defense is miles ahead of both of them.

Martin or McCann. I voted for Brian.

He can't steal for a good rate though so it doesn't matter. He's hurting the team when he steals at 60% or whatever he's at. Mauer has actually proven to be the better base stealer at this point to put things in perspective. Mauer is the best hitter of the 3 IMO. The only strike against him is his propensity for injury, which is a very real problem.
1. Russell Martin
2. Joe Mauer
3. Brian McCann
They're all really close though.

I was leaning towards Martin, but I went with Mauer.

Russell Martin-I see him not getting injured as much.

Russell Martin. Great defensive catcher.

Joe Mauer.
This is really close. McCann and Martin both have the potential to be great catchers. Mauer has less potential to be a great full-time catcher because he seems to lack the necessary durability, but Mauer has the best shot of the three of being a great hitter, a guy who approaches 3,000 hits with medium power over the course of his career. Given that Mauer can catch 80-100 games very well while hitting like that, I give him the nod...but Martin and McCann are more likely to rack up more All Star games at catcher than Mauer, IMO.
One more note: Mauer plays in the AL, while the other two play in the NL...that's got to factor into the choice.
