Title: Hanley next $200 Mill man?
Marlinschamps03 - March 24, 2008 04:11 AM (GMT)
Accourdin to Buster Olney over at ESPN (it's an insider article so I could only tell from the first lines that non-insiders can see) Hanley "Shadez" Ramirez is the best bet to be the next $200 Million man. I could see it if he keeps up and improves on last seasons #'s so whats your opinoin?

That's pretty much the real question.

As long as he continues on the road he's on, no doubt.
TheHugeUnit - March 24, 2008 02:45 PM (GMT)
hmm I thought Holliday could until I saw he is already 28. Yeah I guess Hanley could be with the Red Sox.

Just a sidenote, I think MC is one of the few people in the entire world who call him Shadez.
zackboomer - March 24, 2008 03:04 PM (GMT)
you better hope for the marlin's sake that he isn't
Caulfield - March 24, 2008 03:07 PM (GMT)
Could happen, but it won't be in a Marlins' uni.

Geoff have been calling him that for awhile. Its not like he is the only one who wears sunglasses.
Bloss - March 24, 2008 03:24 PM (GMT)
ya I see him as a 200 Million dollar player.
I think that someone like Ryan Howard or Prince Fielder geting it first

The errors will decrease, He can be a very good to a GG defender if he puts his mind to it.
Mets Rule - March 25, 2008 02:37 AM (GMT)
No...he's not going to be a good fielder. He's a pure hitter, but from what I've seen of him, he's just a God awful fielder.

Trust me if he really put his mind to it and practiced his ass off he would greatly improve his feilding. He still might end up at 3B or a different position anyway but only cause he'll grow out of it.

But you're stating the obvious. Anyone could become a great fielder if they worked their ass off and devoted their minds to it.

True, I'm not the best at swayin opinoins anyway. I'll just stick to mine and keep it at that.

Can't the same be said about any other player?
I'll go with a no though, he'll be damn good but not that much. I think mccann (if he hits for a higher obp), tulowitzki, hunter pence, prince fielder, joe mauer, ryan howard, albert pujols, taylor teagarden, and ryan zimmerman all can be possible 200 mil men, or at least 150 mil.
jaysdude09 - March 25, 2008 02:52 AM (GMT)
Well I guess Hanley's speed makes him a better candidate than most to improve his fielding.

The one's in bold are the serious contenders outa those. The ones in italics are but not as much as the others. Pujols is still under that long-term contract for a couple more years isn't he? Thats the only reason I put him in italics instead of bold.
