Title: OMGZ COLTZ CHEET
soxfan#1 - November 5, 2007 07:58 PM (GMT)
| QUOTE |
The NFL is investigating the Colts for allegedly piping in crowd noise for their game Sunday.
The Patriots wouldn't be the first team to accuse the Colts of this. The crowd noise sounded like it started to skip on CBS, and the league wants to know if it was just a television issue. The story may have legs considering observers at the game reportedly heard the problem, even if it ruins Greg Easterbrook's "Good vs. Evil II" column. Nov. 5 - 12:22 pm et |

Just another team cheating in the NFL, most teams it seems cheats now. Why not the Colts
goredsox1211 - November 5, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
lol they have been doing it for years now. Let them if they think that gives them an advantage in their wussy little dome. It did bother Brady but he still came back to win.
goredsox1211 - November 5, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
lol at the video hearing it skip, owned.
Tribe No 1 Fan - November 5, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
Wow, notice that sound...
But Yahoo.com says CBS admitted to it being an audio glitch.
But how would piping in crowd cheers be considered "cheating", and why would it be the Colts accused to being the cheaters?

Apparently, Brady couldn't hear the signals from the speaker that the QB's have attached to their helmets, so the coaches had to use hand signals in order to get in touch with the players.

Typical pats fan...still piss and moan even after a win.
CBS proved that it was an error on their part. Believe it or not, most crowds are louder in a dome. It echoes throughout the stadium.
Rockshu - November 5, 2007 10:47 PM (GMT)
The Seahawks were accused of this a couple years ago, but I don't know what happened with the case.
By the way, the difference between a crowd full of fans yelling and a crowd of fans yelling + speakers is basically negligible. The human ear has a threshold for noise where anything beyond it basically becomes white noise in the background. A full crowd is so high up on the sound wave scale that adding speakers to it really only makes the noise the ear hears minutely louder.

Then, how are the QB's supposed to hear the plays being called into the speaker thing that is attached to their helmets? Answer me that.
kyyankgrrl - November 5, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
This is no where near as intense as videotaping opposing team's signals, IMO.

Thats the point of home field advantage. Fans want to make it as difficult as they can on the opposing quarterback. If Tom Brady said he couldnt hear anything, well that is a job well done for the fans.

Ya sure half the fans in Indy probably dont make noise anymore cause of what they do. They still pump the fake noise in that place. Other teams have complained also. The Jaguars are one team.

It has been investigated and proven wrong each and every time.
goredsox1211 - November 5, 2007 11:18 PM (GMT)
Then how come after the skipping is done, the place is quiet? Cause they turned off the cd.
2BCano - November 5, 2007 11:22 PM (GMT)
Because the play had ended, and the ball had been snapped.
The whole point of noise is to make it harder to hear signals pre snap and then cheer your team untill the tackle is made.
goredsox1211 - November 5, 2007 11:30 PM (GMT)
Its a sharp dropoff in noise though lol.

Cheating is cheating. And I recall you saying until week 9 the best team in the NFL was the colts.
What now?
Caulfield - November 6, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
Case has already been closed, Colts cleared of wrongdoing.
Cue whining about further proof of NFL bias against Pats.

Ill give props where props are do. The Pats showed up in the 4th Quarter and the Colts didn't. The Pats are now the best team in the league.
However, the Colts did not cheat. CBS has already came out and said that it was a problem with the TV station. Thats why you can not hear it if you were listening to radio, or at the game itself.
bostonfanatic87 - November 6, 2007 12:36 AM (GMT)
I don't care about that, because no matter if they cheated or not, Pats beat them plain and simple. The officiating bothered me, it was atrocious, like the PI call on Hobbs when there shouldn't have been a call, and if there was a PI it should've been on Wayne for tackling Hobbs
goredsox1211 - November 6, 2007 01:19 AM (GMT)
CBS was paid off by the Colts to admit it was their mistake.
Iluvkm15 - November 6, 2007 01:58 AM (GMT)
all that matters is the outcome- Pats won, barely, but it is still a W.

They investigated and found that the Giants are a bunch of whiney shits who make excuses and accusations to compensate for the incompetence of their team... Not that we didn't know that already.

Don't be ignorant. The Colts have a VERY good chance of beating us in the conference finals. The fact it was that close and Harrison was out should be something to worry about.

I'm just saying that no matter what it is the Colts did or didn't do, the Pats won. The officiating bothered me more than the Colts.

On weei some fans called in that were at the game and said they heard the noise. Told you cbs was paid off.

Yes of course, because if there were Pats fans who were there and didn't hear a thing WEEI would most definitely give them coverage. WEEI is hardly an unbiased source.
And we all know Pats fans, players, and coaches are all fine upstanding citizens who would never whine, complain, and even lie about such a thing to continue to propagate these accusations. Instead, it's a massive conspiracy involving the Colts, the NFL, CBS, the referees, the CIA, KGB, and MI6 to fix the NFL season and allow the Colts to pull off an upset and win the Super Bowl again.
Get over it Pats fans. You're giving yourselves a bad name and looking even more ridiculous in the process.
BTW, this is hilarious:

Yes, considering accusations to possibly be valid before proof comes out in regards to it=evil. How does it feel to be evil too kiddo?

People hate pats fans because we're not the underdogs anymore. Its like the yankees. I don't care if some Pats fans are like that. Don't like it? Get used to them. Every team has them all.
