Title: Bergeron hit

Randy Jones of the Flyers hit Bergeron from behind and drilled him into the boards. He fell instantly but his status is still unknown I think. I hope he was just knocked out and has no serious injury. But this hit was dirty and there was no need to do it.

Someone told me he thinks he just has a broken nose. You could call that a miracle if thats the only injury. If you saw that hit it looked real bad.

also from boston.com:

Patrice Bergeron has been diagnosed with a concussion and a broken nose.

Initial X-rays and a CT scan have not shown serious injury to his head or neck, and he has full feeling and motion in all extremities.

If Steve Downie gets 20 for a borderline hit, then Jones needs to sit for at least 10 games.

Anything less than 5 is proof of a double standard against the league's tough guys.

I'd give him 8-12. It's basically just a serious boarding penalty.

it said on ESPN he got 2 games
shouldve been longer than that

Okay that hit was not even near as bad as people are making it out to be. Bergeron turned his back while he was going in and Jones was already going after him. Players got to stop putting themselves in these vulnerable positions. I'm sorry but anyone who thinks Jones should have got 10+ games needs to be educated the game of hockey and also know when an accident is an accident. It was never Jones' intention to take Bergeron out like that. Too many players go into the corners or the boards without even looking what or if anyone is around them. I am a huge Bergeron fan but he should have been looking to see if anyone was coming.

The Flyers need to be fined or something, third hit this year.
