ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have added three more players to their active roster.
As September callups, the Rangers are adding outfielder Freddy Guzman and left-handed pitchers A.J. Murray and Bill White. To make room for White on the 40-man roster, the Rangers have placed pitcher Willie Eyre on the 60-day disabled list while he is recovering from Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery.
Guzman appeared in 133 games for Triple-A Oklahoma this season and batted .269 with four home runs and 34 RBIs. He also had 56 stolen bases (in 70 attempts), which was the most in Triple-A baseball in 2007.
Murray has appeared in eight games for Texas in 2007 and has gone 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA. In 41 games (one start) for Oklahoma this season he was 3-3, 3.08 with five saves. He threw 52 2/3 innings for the RedHawks and allowed 42 hits, 19 runs (18 earned) with 25 walks and 51 strikeouts. He also held opponents to a .221 average.
White made 43 appearances at Double-A Frisco, where he was 2-0 with two saves and a 4.44 ERA (24 earned runs in 48 innings). He struck out 64 against 26 walks. He pitched in one game for Triple-A Oklahoma in April. He signed with Texas as a free agent March 28, 2007, after being released by Washington. He had spent the previous seven seasons in the Arizona organization.
