Title: AL Wild Card

TheBabe714 - August 21, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
Ok, listed all the 2nd place teams and the division leaders.

Yankees 4 GB
Tigers 1.5 GB
Mariners 2 GB

I'm gonna give my biased vote and say Yankees. :D

LillyRocks - August 21, 2007 01:09 AM (GMT)
I figured it'd be the 2nd place team from the AL Central, but I'm having second thoughts. I selected the Mariners.

TheFranchise14 - August 21, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
I'm taking the Indians on this one.

TheHugeUnit - August 21, 2007 01:14 AM (GMT)
If I had a choice between the Wild card and division my personal taste is the Wild Card this year. I won't vote though, since I'd be biased.

DaeHan - August 21, 2007 01:58 AM (GMT)
Yankees

PAUL KONERKO 14 - August 21, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
Yankees.

Marlinschamps03 - August 21, 2007 04:10 AM (GMT)
Yankees.

M's peeps.

Element - August 21, 2007 04:32 AM (GMT)
Figure M's have a better shot at the division.

Yea, either ones fine with me ^_^

Nites like tonite when we lose a tough game to the Halos make it tough to believe the Yankees can pull out a PS spot.....but I do believe we can.

Lets get a win tonite. Glad Arod got HR #40, while Posada keeps moving along as well. Posada probably doesn't want the season to EVER end.

Red Sox, Angels, and Indians have their respective divsions locked up. Seattle has been overachieving and won't' continue their good play, in fact they are slumping now and have lost something like 8 strait. The Yankees have peaked. I like the Tigers to win the Wild Card because they have good starting pitching, a dominant bullpen, and a solid offense.

zackboomer - September 3, 2007 04:19 AM (GMT)
Jays. Why ain't they even up there 5.5 back isn't that much.

Mike Lowell is God - September 3, 2007 04:28 AM (GMT)
because they jays suck and aren't any better then any of the teams on the poll

Overachieving as Seattle HAD been, we need to keep THEIR losing streak going and pounce on them and make them really drop out of the WC chase as of this weeks series with them.

This is in OUR control.

That was when they were like 2.5 games out and the Red Sox were slumping and the Yankees were getting hot. Now they are like six back with you guys hot and they aren't. Didn't they just get swept by the drays?

KeepTheFaith - September 3, 2007 03:59 PM (GMT)
i just find it funny how you jumped over to the yanks when they got hot and laughed at me when i said the sox would still win and now the lead has expanded and you've jumped back over.

I'm sorry man but the Jays are better than you.

Their roto is Halladay, Burnett, Marcum and MaGawan while yours is Felix, HoRam, Weaver and Washburn. Your strong point is your pen while the Jays have a pretty good pen to that comes close to yours and when they get BJ Ryan back.....well..... Their lineup is probably about the same as yours if not better as well. Your farm rapes theirs though. Then again whose farm doesn't. :ph43r:

haha very very true on the last point. but there have been a few bright points that we didn't even hear about until this year, or just took a lot longer to develop.

And who exactly is your 7th inning man and set up man if JJ Putz gets injured? Think about it, where would you be without your most prised reliever PUTZ?

George Sherrill? Sean Green?

There's no point in arguing this. There's no convincing you assholes :/

that's like saying Carlos Pena>Travis Hafner offensively because Hafner is having an off-year while Pena is playing over his head

Clearly you would have less wins if you lost your star closer for the whole season.

THU is my budday now.

And our farm isn't TERRIBLE. In the last 3 years it has given us Accardo, Janssen, Wolfe, Tallet, McGowan, Marcum, Litsch, Hill, Adams (although he flopped after a decent first year), and Thigpen. Then we also have 2 top 40 prospects in the minors with Adam Lind and Travis Snider who should take over for Johnson and Thomas in LF and DH eventually. Sure, there's not a whole lot behind Lind and Snider, but our farm has given us one of the best rotations and bullpens in baseball this year. That's gotta count for something.

Umm...if you had to play the Yankees and Redsox every other series your record would take a hit as well. The only real challenge you have is the Angels. The A's are decent, but nothing close to the Yanks or Sox.
