Buehrle!! Just kidding, even if I voted him it has to be A-Rod.

A-rod he got his 500th and he is a great player he gets it by far

A-Rod in a landslide. No one in the AL can match his power production.
mpic92 - September 3, 2007 04:08 AM (GMT)
Look at Arods production this season and how he's carried the Yankees offense pretty much all year. Theres no way you can go with those other options.
Rockshu - September 3, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
A-Rod, but if Magglio somehow hits 40 HR he has a chance.

I think homers influence the MVP award a little to much. For example, Magglio has been so amazing this season, but isn't hitting homers like Arod is. He has the average and rbi's, and I think he's definitely second to Arod in the MVP race.
Rockshu - September 3, 2007 04:16 AM (GMT)
If A-Rod gets to 150 runs and 150 RBI's, he HAS to win the MVP. He'd be like only the 4th or 5th person ever to do that.
Mike Lowell is God - September 3, 2007 04:26 AM (GMT)
If he does that i believe he'll be the first person since Ted Williams in 1949 to achieve 150/150 in a season

Yea you're right, although Sosa came four runs short in 2001 with 146 runs and 160 RBI.
detroittigerfan28 - September 3, 2007 07:55 PM (GMT)
its gonna be between a-rod & magglio, but because a-rod has more home runs, he's automatically the chosen one.
and i think granderson will get some votes too in the end, because he's having a monsterous year. & i'm honestly not just saying that. go look at his stats.
but in the end its gonna be a-rod & magglio..i'd go with maggs. he makes our lineup better. this is the Most Valuable Player. take a-rod out of the yankees lineup, then take magglio out of the tigers lineup. which team has a better chance of winning? magglio's a little bit more valuable to his team than a-rod is to his. (IMO)
BlueJaysfan - September 3, 2007 07:58 PM (GMT)
The top 3: A-Rod, Vladdy, and Mags.

LOL you're kiiiiiding me, without A-Rod the Yankees would have had an even MORE terrible first half.

Yeah Yankees would have 50 wins without A-Rod this year.

Tribe No 1 Fan - September 3, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
It would definitely be A-Rod over Mags.
Next One - September 4, 2007 04:22 AM (GMT)
I think Mag's will win it if the Tiger's make the playoffs. He has less of a supporting cast than A-rod. It's close. I went against the crowd and voted Mag's.
Graham - September 5, 2007 01:51 PM (GMT)
TheHugeUnit - September 6, 2007 01:55 AM (GMT)
The race is over, A-Rod could sit the sit the rest of the year and he would still get every single 1st place vote, or at least should.
Graham - September 6, 2007 02:01 AM (GMT)
he's going to break the record for hr's hit by a right handed batter at Yankee stadium
Buchholz08 - September 10, 2007 10:00 PM (GMT)
I hate to say this, but ARod
ConVICKted - September 10, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
it's A-Rod no question about it
Jayhawk Bill - September 10, 2007 10:13 PM (GMT)
I think that everybody is overlooking Derek Jeter's intangibles.

See? You just looked at stats--I'm talking intangibles!
Alex Rodriguez is having another season for the ages. He's won two MVP Awards (2003, 2005) and he should've won three more, IMO (1996, 2000, 2002). Even from that inner-circle HOF-type background, this is Alex Rodriguez's best season as a hitter, and he did it in an epic come-from-behind Wild Card race.
A-Rod. I'd turn in my ballot without any other name, if I were voting and that were permitted.

Stats decide who wins, not "intangibles!"
Jeter won't even get a look (or at least he shouldn't).

It's 2007, right?
Mims - September 10, 2007 11:09 PM (GMT)
A-Rod easily. It's locked up now that the Yankees continue to build the lead in the Wild Card. If the Tigers were anywhere from 0.5-1.5 GB, I'd consider Mags, but A-Rod's season has been good all around. And even when he's had a "bad month" its still been one any player would take.
Plus, like someone else mentioned, if A-Rod wasn't playing on the Yankees, they would be easily under .500.
