so this?:
10-9y-2y²
rearange it to
-2y²-9y+10
you know since the equation begins with -2y² that you will have
(-2y+???)(1y+???)
then just expirement with things that multiply out to 10 and you get:
(-2y+-5)(1y+-2)

but that comes out to -2y^2+1y+10

How about this one.
x^2-xy-20y^2
^2 means squared.
