Title: Yankees vs Red Sox prospects

Who do you tihnk has the better farm?

I was thinking maybe of getting like teams of 3 and we can debate but if you want to just post what team and why thats good too.

win2day - November 8, 2006 02:56 AM (GMT)
As a Yankee fan I'll say Yankees. But I'll admit, other than what the Sox already brought up (ala Papelbon, Hansen, Lester) and Ellsbury, I don't have much knowledge of their farm. I going based on that since the RedSox already brought up their upper prospects, the Yankees have the better farm because they still have some prospects down there.

Yankees wins by an inch, Redsox's got decent ones also but Yankees got the upperhand on this one

Here is our farm system

(sorry if this is considered an advertisement)

Yankees by a furlong with a future roto of Dellin, Hughes, Garcia, Clippard and Joba/Kennedy and thats not even inculding Wang. We also got one of the brightest future OFs with Tabata and Garnder and I guess Melky assuming he can improve. We also have Jackson waiting int he wings incase one of them falls. We got Duncan at first which isn't great but meh. Monerao at catcher could be a VERY good catcher.

Cox, Roberson and Melancon in the pen. Marcos at third also.

I have to go with the Yankees. Had the Red Sox not traded away Ramirez, Sanchez, and Meredith they may have had a shot, but not anymore.

Don't forget Marte, *bananadance*

Yeah, they had a good system going, and then decided to trade them away, and didn't do too hot in them deals.

Marte was a member of the Braves minors. The Sox got him for Renteria, then they flipped him to the Indians.

Red Sox traded away slot of theri top prospects last winter
the Yankees have held on to them and have a lot of future stars coming up so ill go with the Yankees, i like how the Yankees have held onto their to prospects in recent years (ie: Phil Hughes and Jose Tabata)

TheHugeUnit - November 8, 2006 03:13 AM (GMT)
I'm calling it Dellin will be better than Hughes and hughes will be great. Dellin is without a doubt one of my favorite players in the Yankees minors.

You said that about Garcia last summer.

Marte was a member of the Braves minors. The Sox got him for Renteria, then they flipped him to the Indians.

They still HAD him though. I knew he was from the minors, but he was a top prospect they could have held onto, instead of trading him away for a questionable Crisp, and a catcher in Bard, who they traded for Mirabelli.

This is what essentially, but not doing trades, the RedSox could have had in their system.

SS: Hanley Ramirez
2B: Dustin Pedoria
OF: JacoB Ellsbury
C: Shoppaach
3B: Marte
P: Sanchez
P: Papelbon
P: Hansen
P: Merideth

That would have been a very good core of young players on the team, and with the resources that the RedSox have, they could have easily fielded a great team for years to come.

and im still sayign that about Garcia. IMO its hard for me to say this as a Yankee fan but hughes is a bit over rated. Forgive me Yankee fans.

Hansen is nothing and they have Ellsburg and Boewden who are both good.

I think Dellin is years away though, but I do know that he had a crazy amount of K's before he was drafted, like 100Ks in 123 outs or something like that with a .17 ERA and great stuff.

Hughes is the gem.
Garcia has high potential
Tabata might be a future All Star
Clippard will be a good to an ok back end of the rotation type
Cox might be a good closer
And the rest are pretty far away in years, we'll have to wait on them.

They rushed Hansen, thats the problem. If they had Merideth, they could have let Hansen develop in the minors last year.

Well yeah Dellin is far away he is like 18. Gardner is going to be sweet he is a 4 tool player and reminds me of a lesser version of Crawford with his blinding sppedgreat defense great arm and great contact, he has NO power though.

well it looks like thye might have to put hansen in the closer role again sicne they rejected Foulke.

 *wwe*

Hughes is the best rated pitching prospect right now in the WHOLE minor leauge. I think he'll be an ace somewhere around '09- '10. He'll break into the leauge as a starter in '08.

I see them going after Gagne for some reason. Closer by committe till he gets healthy. Well the word of doom happened on the RedSox, Gammons said picking Hansen was just a steal and that the Yankees will regret it, Hansen might as well retire before something bad happens to him, lol.

I never said he wasn't an ace but he aint the ace in about 4 or 5 years with Dellin in the minors.

I have a feeling the Ddogers will resign him for around 7 to 8 million. Think about it, Broxan isn;t ready to close.
