Title: Padres Fans Prepare to Cry

TheHugeUnit - November 2, 2006 04:52 AM (GMT)
The Padres have scheduled an interview with Dusty Baker on Monday.

Baker hardly seems like a fit for the Padres, who appeared to be going for someone they could mold. They were also looking to find someone cheaper than Bruce Bochy, and Baker is coming off a four-year, $14 million contract with the Cubs. Expect them to go in a different direction.

Hahaha, wow, if I was a Padre fan I would definitely cry.

if that happens put a stake in the padres season

I might have to kill somebody if that happned, but I don't think it will.

Why the Dusty bashing? I like that part of the reason he left the Giants was because he didn't like giving Bonds "special" treatment....and that he did the same with Sosa when he joined the Cubs.

Dusty ruined Kerry Wood and Mark Prior, I beleive in 2002 or 2003 they lead 1-2 in most pitches thrown, thats with Wood missing about 3 weeks due to another injury.

thanks to DustyTheJoke for the info.

If he got a hold of the padres, Peavy and Young would be the new Wood and Prior.

*SD* They are going to get even worse after he signs with them. *SD*

Theres no way they'll make him their new manager... their ownership and Kevin Towers are way to smart to hire such a pathetic manager.

British_Pharaoh - November 7, 2006 01:31 PM (GMT)
nothing wrong with baker

he had the hardest job possible last season

3/5 of his rotation were injured

then another member of it was traded

Lee was never healthy, Pierre had an atrocious start to the year

none of it could have been prevented by him

he's a good man manager and the one thing you want in ur clubhouse is happy players who are motivated

Give Dusty another chance, he could have a fluke season managing or something.

DrunkenTiger - November 7, 2006 04:15 PM (GMT)
^ got a point

but there's no way I'm letting ChanHo Park stay there..
