Here is to talk about the moves we make during the off-season. Our hitting is definitely good, we just need another solid starter and maybe another reliever, but I think Matt Thornton, David Riske, Mike MacDougal, and Bobby Jenks should be a decent bullpen at least. And of course I'm looking forward to another season from Dye, Konerko, Crede, and Thome (if they come back.)

Crushed Optimism - October 28, 2006 04:07 PM (GMT)
Thornton actually did good for you?

sell sell sell

The only thing the White Sox can do is get some bullpen help and pray the starters pitch as good as they should.

Buehrle over-rated

Vazquez has bottomed out

Garland over achieves every season (can't rely on him)

Garcia is better than he was in 2006

Contreras can be unhittable on his day

2/5 aint bad enjoy third place

Buehrle isn't overrated, this year was just a bad season

I hope we get rid of Vazquez.

Garland will be a solid 5 starter probably.

Garcia will either suck or do good.

Contreras will do good most likely.

How in God's name can you over-achieve every season? Doesn't that make you good?

And Buehrle isn't overrated, he just had an awful season.

idk the white soxs need to go out and get a solid pitcher there bullpens great, and there hittings great with the 4 beasts they have in the middle of there lineup...

To improve, I think they should get a better centerfielder than Brian Anderson. Everything else is fine to me.

No he'll do a lot better, he hit like .290 something in the second half.
There hitting is good, possibly get a better lead-off hitter. But yea you're right with our line-up we can have a great defensive player in BA and still win, but, you heard it from me first, Anderson will hit .280 next season.

I would replace Scott Podsednik way sooner than I would Brian Anderson. Brian has a shot to be a great player (I'm the biggest Anderson fan, by the way), but Podsednik is getting a little old, it's like he can't hit anymore and his stealing ability is getting bad. Maybe they can bring someone new over, like Matthews JR or Crawford (unlikely, but not impossible). Another move I would love is the signing of Alex Gonzalez. I hate Uribe with a passion....
