Title: Would You?

Ranger_4 - October 25, 2006 03:09 AM (GMT)
The reason I ask is because I heard that this is a very strong rumor, but hasn't become a huge one because of the World Series.

The Angels promised their fans a big change, and Santana is a PERFECT fit in Baltimore.

This question is asking from an Angels standpoint. If you were the Angels, then would you do this trade?

I voted No.

BlueJaysfan - October 25, 2006 03:14 AM (GMT)
baltimore wouldnt do it...they could get better.

Crushed Optimism - October 25, 2006 04:45 AM (GMT)
No? Why not? Straight up the Angels get a STEAL here. STEAL! If they throw in some of their young phenoms, sure, but straight up? Wowza.

Ranger_4 - October 25, 2006 04:58 AM (GMT)
I guess I just see more potential in a guy like Santana than you guys. I say he wins 20 games in a season through his career.

Crushed Optimism - October 26, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
Santana's potential is a mid-rotation starter, not a #1 and probably not even #2. I like him, but he's not a 20 game winner. Plus, he has a history of arm injuries.

wow I'd rather be in the Angels position, definitely a steal for them.

Tejada > Santana.

Tejada = Santana + Wood, maybe.

jaysdude09 - October 26, 2006 08:15 PM (GMT)
I'd do it for sure. Tejada is one of the premiere shortstops in the game even though his power has been seriously declining the past years. The Angels need someone in that lineup to protect Vlad and Tejada might be the guy. Orlando Cabrera might move to 3B or something or 2B if Tejada was brought in.

NHOI - October 26, 2006 08:22 PM (GMT)
Tejada puts the Angels over the top. Vlad finally gets some protection and even without Santana the Angels pitching is still one of the best in baseball.

I'd do it.

No! They already have Wood and Aybar coming up, so their losing their 10-yr future for 1 year of decent production.

Yeah but you see the Angels wanna win now and they dont care if they have to trade their prospects to do it becasue they have an abundance of them.

Ranger_4 - October 26, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)
If the Angels were smart they wouldn't make this trade. If they cared one bit about the future then the wouldn't do it.

The Angels will probably be shopping for a big bat, and probably going hard after Soriano/Lee.

Ranger_4 - October 26, 2006 10:10 PM (GMT)
Understandable, but they can get that without giving up a guy like Santana. Just sign a FA.

You say this based on what? The Angels have been very stubborn about keeping top prospects, much to my delight.

nath87 - October 29, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
If I were the Angels I would go for the trade if this was the only players involved in the trade. Realisticly, I don't see this trade happening, and I don't really see Tejada going anywhere soon.

NYYanks21318 - November 3, 2006 12:34 AM (GMT)
I would say no because Ervin Santana is still young and it is hard to decide right now but you can tell he has a future

Idahofan - November 7, 2006 07:52 AM (GMT)
While Miguel Tejada is a great player, I think that the angels have to hold on to their best young pitcher (yes better than Jered, imo).
