Angels agreed to terms with outfielder Chone Figgins on a three-year contract.
No terms yet, but $10 million is our guess. Figgins had been a super-two player. He'll still have a year of arbitration eligibility remaining after this deal runs out. Jan. 14 - 8:34 pm et
Angels agreed to terms with outfielder Juan Rivera on a two-year contract.
This only takes care of his first two years of arbitration. Rivera, who could be the favorite for DH at-bats headed into spring training, won't be eligible for free agency until after 2008. Jan. 14 - 8:32 pm et
I'm glad they kept Chone. He is one of my favorite players.
Chone Figgins will earn $10.5 million over the next three years under the terms of his deal agreed to today.
Figgins will receive $2.25 million this year, $3.5 million in 2007 and $4.75 million in 2008. He'll be arbitration eligible in 2009. Jan. 14 - 10:33 pm et
It was also a goood move to keep Rivera. He is a good, young, underrated player.
