OOOhhh...lots of good choices, but I'd say Cuddyer. He more than doubled his HR and RBI totals from last year.

KeepTheFaith - October 21, 2006 07:35 PM (GMT)
RH6

Marlinschamps03 - October 21, 2006 07:39 PM (GMT)
Sadly I'll have to say Howard. <_<

British_Pharaoh - October 21, 2006 07:44 PM (GMT)
Cuddyer just came out of nowhere

the Tribes Man's got a point...

this year was Polanco's worst OPS since 1999.... not a breakout year at all....

You can't really pick either of those. We all knew they were young and both top prospects and had the potential to do what they did. It was only a matter of time.

Crz4mets2 - October 21, 2006 08:46 PM (GMT)
Endy Chavez by far

BTW I chose other

Raysfan16 - October 21, 2006 09:17 PM (GMT)
I said Breakout. Big Hurt isn't a breakout, he is a Comeback Player. Neither is Paps, or Markakis, they're rookies.

PAUL KONERKO 14 - October 21, 2006 09:22 PM (GMT)
Jermaine Dye

If you were reffering to me I said Howard and said Big Hurt because I was saying he should have won CPY over Thome like MetSoxzFan said.

Ranger_4 - October 22, 2006 10:34 PM (GMT)
Definately Ryan Howard. No doubt in my mind.

NYYanks21318 - November 3, 2006 01:15 AM (GMT)
I went with the amzing young Ryan Howard. He hit about 60 homers on his first full season as a starter at first base.

your right. but IMO i think he had a good year. whats on his record doesnt matter to me, because when we needed him to come up big he did.

but another breakout player for me is granderson. he's not a rookie, so he does count. i know people will bitch about how he strikes out a lot but besides that, he's an outstanding player.

jaysdude09 - November 3, 2006 01:24 AM (GMT)
Justin Morneau because he came back from the crappiest year ever. He had injury problems and some minor ones and that prevented him from doing what he can do.

TheBossMan11 - November 3, 2006 01:25 AM (GMT)
cuddyer mainly being a bench warmer last year and coming up with waht 22 hr and like 105 rbi

kyyankgrrl - November 3, 2006 01:29 AM (GMT)
Melky Cabrera. Came up in '05 and sucked. Came up in '06 and rocked.

no ryan howard? :o

Ranger_4 - November 3, 2006 04:24 AM (GMT)
Gotta be Howard.

NateFizzle - November 4, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
I expected Howard, Dye, and Morneau to be good. My vote goes to the best first name in baseball Nate Robertson, but Cuddyer too was surprising.

MNtwins06 - November 17, 2006 12:53 AM (GMT)
morneau, because no twins player had hit more than 30 HR's in a season since 1989? Everyone expected huge things from him this year, and he met those expextations and more!
