The decade of the 1950s that is.Who can remember the domance of the Giants,Yankees and Dodgers back then.Those 3 trio teams really hated each other Especialy Giants & Dodgers rivaly.If you were a kid growing up in brooklyn you do not ever root for the Giants for any reason nor you dont listen to the giants brodcast.People in brooklyn see you with a giants cap they will maul you.But in some cases brooklyn residents dont mind you cheering for the yanks until its world series time.Samething goes on in the bronx where both stadiums used to stand.Back in the 1950s were the birth of the orioles the K.C A`s and the milwaukee braves.Orioles and the A`s both sucked back then.But the Braves were a hit in milwaukee.Back in the 50s were also bad news when walter omalley moved the dodgers to L.A and Giants went to San Fran.Back then players were cashing in on commerical advertisment like the first player appered in TV commerical was Mickey Mantle he was trying to get kids to eat their wheaties.But boy games were nasty everytime Giants vs Dodgers see each other.Who can remember in NBC game of the week Dodgers vs Giants when one of those pitchers hit the batter and youll see words exchange at each other.And get this youll even see one of the players try to spike into second baseman and third baseman at times.Even they spiked jackie robinson.Now the Fans were very well behaved back then you didnt see fights breaking out in the stands between dodger and giants fans.The general rule is this.If the Giants playing at ebbets field you watch the giants on TV or on listen to them on Radio.If the Dodgers playing at polo grounds you watch your dodgers on TV or listen to red barber on Radio.Both fans were raised to stay out of the enimies territory.But Baseball was a differant era back in the 50s which we may not ever see again.
