Title: Floyd out of playoffs

Report: Injured Floyd to miss rest of playoffs
Veteran New York Mets' outfielder Cliff Floyd will miss the rest of his team's playoff run due to an Achilles tendon injury, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
Floyd, who has been on and off the disabled list with various leg injuries this season, was forced to leave the Mets' series-clinching victory over the Dodgers on Saturday after scoring from first base on a Shawn Green double in the third inning.
The Mets have listed Floyd as day-to-day with a strained left Achilles tendon. But the Daily News says he is doubtful to play in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series vs. the Cardinals on Wednesday night.
"I was thinking maybe I played my last game of the season," Floyd told the New York Daily News after the game.
"The good news is that I've got Monday and Tuesday to get treatment before we play again," Floyd said in his MLB.com blog. "And I've already started treatment with ice. I'll be wearing one of those boots again. I don't know, maybe it'll get better in two days. If it doesn't, I'll deal with it. Someone already suggested to me that I could be the DH if we get into the World Series."
The Mets have until 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday to set their NLCS roster.

I really love how every "source" is saying "according to the daily news" when there is NOTHING in the daily news about Cliff even being out.

I also love how that translates to out for the playoffs.

I read they are going to see how he feels today after the team workout, then decide. The post quoted Omar as him probably dropping royce ring off the roster and keeping floyd and probably adding either Ledee or Milledge.

That is the media's job. If there isn't a story either make something up or add something juicy to a boring story to make it better. Example...T.O., even though he brings a lot of it on himself, the media makes it worse I think.

well yeah i understand it's the media's job to a point to try and be the first to uncover a story...but when you are an up and coming journalist, your first lesson is to make sure the story you are covering is 100 percent true before you publish it.

Floyd was supposed to start game one yesterday, he was in the lineup. But since it rained out he'll just play today

Well.... Hes on the roster.... BUT he only lasted one at bat :( its still day to day, maybe he can pinch hit here or there and dh if we make the series... Too bad they couldnt put another pitcher on the roster considering the five straight games...
