Title: Angels Smartest move ever
Description: Negotiations with K-Rod Begin

TheHugeUnit - January 12, 2006 03:40 PM (GMT)
The Angels have begun negotiations with Francisco Rodriguez, Scot Shields, John Lackey and Chone Figgins on multiyear contracts.
"We'll exchange numbers and keep going from there," said Paul Kinzer, Rodriguez's agent. "Right now, we're trying to settle the first year, but we've also discussed a multi-year deal. We're open to doing something long-term, and the Angels are open to it to a certain extent." Except for Figgins, each of the four players is three years away from free agency. Figgins actually has four years to go. Jan. 12 - 4:11 am et

Those are 4 players the Angels would definitely want to sign and preferably to mult-year deals.

Francisco Rodriguez and Chone Figgins are probably the best moves

i know. we need k-rod (as long as he doesn't do something stupid like that A's game last year!)

I still can't believe that happened. What a way to end a game.

Am I the only person on the planet totally put-off by the way K-Rod pitches? His follow-through - practically sprawled all over the mound - leaves him completely unable to field any balls batted back to him.

K-Rod and Figgins are two young guns that must be inked long term if the Angels want to be good for a longitme..those are not players you can allow to leave
