I didn;t know the Giants had that good of a line-up they got a shot if Barry comes back
MrYankee - January 11, 2006 01:17 AM (GMT)
wow i didnt know the Giants hadd a team like that, i agree thatthey have a shot that team is a 85-90 win team...they definetly have a shot with the division they are in. *hehe*
braveschopbraves - January 11, 2006 01:23 AM (GMT)
Schimdt, Alou, Bonds, Vizquel, Durham... THey are old, but they aren't that bad...
TheHugeUnit - January 11, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
Vizquel and Durham are getting bad i don' see much out of Durham this year and this might be the last year Omar is any good.
2002NLChamps - January 11, 2006 08:06 PM (GMT)
They should win the NL West...after that we'll see where the playoffs take them. Schmidt-Morris-Lowry isn't nearly as good as Wood-Prior-Zambrano or even Mulder-Carpenter-Suppan.

The Giants made some spectacular moves and pick-ups. I have a feeling they're going to go deep into the playoffs, but only if everyone can stay healthy.
mpic92 - January 18, 2006 02:12 AM (GMT)
That is a very good lineup with barry in it. I know they are old but those are a bunch of very good players.
sfgkml - January 20, 2006 02:34 AM (GMT)
Yeah, the Giants're gonna do really good this year. We've lost some good people, like Eyre, but we've done our best to undo it (getting Kline), and then we've also worked what was needed, like signing Matt Morris. I can't wait to see how it plays out, hopefully we won't have as many injuries as we did last year, cause that was where our team broke down.
2002NLChamps - January 20, 2006 07:55 PM (GMT)
Yeah, we could also use a first baseman. Niekro still isn't there yet...
mpic92 - January 20, 2006 08:20 PM (GMT)
Yeah I wouldn't feel comfortable with him being the every day starter yet.
sfgkml - January 20, 2006 10:54 PM (GMT)
Yeah, a new 1B and possibly a sure-fire starter would be nice, I don't like the uncertainty of the 5th spot in our rotation...
2002NLChamps - January 21, 2006 12:06 AM (GMT)
Sabean's always said he's looking into Helton...but knowing him he'd probably trade the entire AAA Giants to do it lol
