Title: Zito would fit in nicely on other side of the Bay

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...SPGOQKTJME1.DTLI'd be really surprised if Barry Zito went to the Giants. I invision him going to a contending team like the Mets and maybe even the Dodgers.

I don't think the A's would do that. They need him if they want to keep their division lead.

I was thinking more in the offseason, not right now

Eh... I don't think there's a doubt in his mind that he wants to go to New York, whether that be for the Yankees or Mets (I personally think it will be the Yankees). He's gonna get a ton of money over there.

I see him coming to either the AL East or the NL East - be that the Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles (it's possible), or Mets. They're basically the only teams who have the money, and are willing to spend it on a huge salary like Zito.

Well, don't leave out the Mariners or the Dodgers, they both have tonne of money as well.

I heard he doesn't want to go to an NL team, soemthign about having to bat.
NateFizzle - September 1, 2006 11:48 PM (GMT)
I heard a while ago San Diego was a possibility for him to go to. And they'll be getting a ton of money freed up in the offseason.

All I hear is team freeing up a ton of money but yet there aren't a lot of good Free agents. I am wodnering how much other teams have to pay their crappy players.

Well I know the Blue Jays are freeing up money so that we can pay for Burnett and Ryan's raises.

He's not gonna be a Giant. I know McGowan wouldn't do that.
