He was a Yankee for a longer period of time.

I think a guy who possesses the Elementary School Diploma of Red Ruffing would know the teams he played for.

I would be very surprised if RR15 didn't, well maybe not because he probably doesn't want to remember that time

He knows because on his Ruffing web site, he talks about him being on the Red Sox.

Yep, Red Ruffing was originally a Red Sox, from 1924-1930 before being traded for to the New York Yankees for OF Cedric Durst and $50,000.

He wasn't expected to become much, becuase asa Red Sox he was 36-96 all time, which was taking him right to become the worst pitcher of all time, but he turned it around when he got to the Yankees and became a WWII Service short of a 300 game winner.
Which is why, though shadowed by Ruth, Ruffing was almost as large a 'loss' from the Sox to help gain the Yankees. Becuase his 7 WS wins are tied for second all time behind Whitey Fords 10.

Yea...I knew that, I have 6 cards of him as a Red Sox as well as a newspaper article from early 1924 about how highly his future was ranked and a 1924 newspaper Boston Red Sox lineup card with him on it, though his stats are from Dover.

Any other wonders about Red Ruffing can easily be found at his Unofficial Website, whos link is in my sig, please view, its a nice site.

Was he seriously 36-96 before he came to the Yankees?

That sucks

I think an interesting debate could be made about whether Red Ruffing should or should not be a hall of famer.
